Guitar Heroism

As I type this, my fingers are quivering with exhaustion and my vision is warping from the endless parade of colored dots that only moments ago were streaming before my eyes.

I have beaten every last song in Guitar Hero on expert mode.

Yea, even Bark at the Moon, Cowboys from Hell, even the terrible Ready to Rokk (which was the last song to fall) by my mortal enemy, Freezepop, have been vanquished by the flailings of my frenzied fingers.

I considered smashing my trusty plastic guitar in true classic rock celebration, but I figure I'm going to need it in one piece for Guitar Hero 2, which is due out in mere weeks.

In the meantime, I suppose I should get back to playing a real instrument.

Culinary Triumphs

I know I haven't posted lately, but I'll make it up to you with some nice pictures.

So you know that crazy Beard Papa place? The place with the huge cream puffs that people stand in line for hours to get? Well, Susie recently acquired a recipe and set about trying to imitate those bad boy cream puffs. The result is pictured. Sherwin called them better than the original. Then again, he said they were so good that it made him angry.

On Friday, we had Dan, Rachael, and Sherwin over for a nice meal. I made a salad, a baked pasta, and for dessert, creme brulee. I used a Barefoot Contessa recipe (more on her later) that called for Grand Marnier. It was pretty F-ing fabulous. Best of all, I finally got to use the kitchen torch that we received as a wedding present. The recipe made 8, so I've still got one in the fridge. Hm, I think I'll go eat it now...
